Build bold. Deliver impact. Win together.

At General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, we’re not just engineering technology — we’re shaping the future of defence and security. Our teams design and deliver advanced, mission‑critical solutions that enhance national security, strengthen communities, and protect the people we serve.

If you’re looking for meaningful work that contributes to a safer, more secure world, you’ll find purpose here. Every day, your skills will directly impact programs that matter.

We are currently hiring for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support our Manned Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MAISR) In‑Service Support (ISS) Program. This is a long‑term program in which General Dynamics Mission Systems‑Canada and our partner, Voyageur Aviation, will provide a full‑suite of maintenance and engineering services for the Royal Canadian Air Forces new fleet of Beechcraft King‑Air 350 Extended Range aircraft and its ground training devices. The services include airworthiness, program management, flight safety, maintenance, materiel management, technical publications, and engineering support to modifications. We will provide these services at their Main Operating Base 8 Wing, Trenton, Ontario and wherever and whenever the aircraft are deployed internationally in support of DND operations.

The Deputy Program Manager may be co‑located with the MAISR Weapon System (WSM) team in Ottawa and be the prime program point of contact for technical matters. Although the Program Manager has overall accountability for the successful execution of the Program, some of the work tasks associated with the Program Manager roles and responsibilities will be delegated to the Deputy Program Manager.

  • Work with WSM in identifying customer needs and support with Statement of Work generation.

  • Liaise with DND Airworthiness auditors (exchange documentation, obtain clarification and / or respond to queries as applicable).
  • Ensure short‑ and long‑term plans are communicated and understood by the program team and status is reported in a timely manner.
  • Track and report program performance.
  • Coordinate with WSM regarding timing for reporting, meetings, etc. and address WSM technical issues and feedback.
  • Support the Program Manager as duties are assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or Computer) or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional certificate would be an asset.
  • Skilled in managing programs according to cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Desire and capability to interact effectively with customers to influence, negotiate, and assure a level of intimacy and satisfaction, and grow the assigned portfolio.

  • Strong writing skills and experience writing program management plans.
  • Familiarity with project planning techniques and fiscal management.
  • Creative problem solving to contribute to continuous growth and improvement.

  • Training or experience with aircraft maintenance and operations.
  • Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers.
  • Experience in maintaining and modifying civilian‑type aircraft.
  • Good understanding of cyber security and information technology.
  • Understanding of estimating and business capture processes.
  • Security Requirements

Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
