In this role, you will :
Responsibility 1 Staff Management
- Recruit, manage and provide leadership to employees; provide coaching and feedback in accordance with the performance management process and career development framework.
- In collaboration with People Services, address and resolve identified conflict and / or performance issues and take corrective action as applicable.
- Provide employees with training, development and deployment opportunities.
Responsibility 2 Finance Management
- Adapt financial management and reporting practices in alignment with requirements.
- Assess and adjust processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, activities, and reporting requirements.
Responsibility 3 Financial Planning and Development (Budgeting & Forecasting) and Financial reporting for the Quebec geography
- Participate in operational planning, and the development of annual and three-year budgets. More specifically, oversee the budgeting process for the geography and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts based on analysis and reasoning, and ensure timely dissemination with various stakeholders for review.
- Draft recurrent reports, emphasizing key financial and non-financial metrics to inform decision making.
Responsibility 4 : Administration
- Ensure management and administration of facilities.
- Oversee and guide work performed by administration team under their supervision.
- Ensure efficient support services to meet the geography's operational needs.
Responsibility 5 : Occupational Health & Safety
- Participate and promote completion of mandatory health and safety training / orientation.
- Promote respectful communication between all personnel and clients to build a healthy and safe workplace.
- Know and follow health, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all employees, volunteers, and clients.
What we are looking for :
- A university degree in Finance, Business or a related field and a professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years experience managing a team in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Relevant philanthropic and non-for-profit experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, techniques, and policies is required.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in French and English; including the ability to communicate effectively with executives.
- Proficient in using MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.
- Professionalism and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively as part of a team and build productive relationships.
- Attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
- Superior organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to problem solve and think outside the box.
Working conditions :
- This hybrid position is based in Montréal.
- In-office attendance may be required, based on job requirements.
- Non-traditional hours will be required to perform on-call duty, as well as during emergency responses and deployments.
- The majority of the work will be performed in an office environment.
