JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION

You will carry out all tasks required in the surfacing department. You must be autonomous, with team-work abilities and good observational and manual skills. You will act as a multitasked technician that must be versatile and can execute all basic activities in an edging and mounting department.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday (night shift) but may be subject to change depending on operational and business needs, potentially requiring employees to work weekends and holidays as well.

You may need to work different hours in the beginning for training purposes.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilizing the blocking machine to accurately secure a block to all lenses going through the surfacing department. You'll operate taping equipment to apply protective tape to the front of the lenses.
• Operating the equipment used to fine and polish all lenses going through the surfacing depart.
• Hand washing and drying lenses followed by a brief cosmetic inspection of the lenses. You'll grasp lenses with a de-blocking cup and strike it against the table to remove block from lenses, and also remove tape from lenses.

QUALIFICATIONS

• If you have experience, great! If not, that’s ok too…we will train you.
• Job experience will be considered in place of High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient in English (ability to read, write, and speak fluently).
• Anyone 18 years of age or older may apply.
• Manufacturing experience a plus.
• The ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment. Depth perception, use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to walk/stand for full duration of the shift.
• Ability to adapt to change
• Be able perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.
• Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds.

Pay Range: $17.60 - $22.00 This position is eligible for a shift premium.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
