Robert Half is searching for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a Public Accounting firm located in Ottawa. This is a full time/permanent position on site.

Responsibilities:
-Full cycle accounting;
-Prepare regular financial reports, income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow for various clients
-Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close process
-Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required
-Preparation and review of working paper files and corporate tax provisions and returns
-Review general ledger accounts activities to ensure account accuracy of financial statements
-Prepare and review and HST returns, payroll remittances, bank reconciliations
-Preparation and review of Personal and Corporate Income Tax returns
-Develop and maintain new client relations
-Provide leadership and technical guidance on engagements
-Meet new clients and promote firm services; and support the management in various related activities.
Qualifications:
-Post-secondary education in Accounting
-Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA)
-Minimum of five 3 years of related work experience
-Experience working with Small/Medium Public Accounting firm
-Good knowledge of Excel, Sage Simply Accounting, Quickbooks, Taxprep and Caseware
-Capable of managing demanding situations
-Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment
-Strong communication skills and ability to answer client questions
-Must be comfortable promoting firm services, working on and offsite with clients and signing new clients
-Quality and detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
-Excellent team player
