Job Description

Invoke is looking for a Technical Director who will play a key role in the development, technical vision and execution of our projects.

Drawing on his or her expertise in gaming technology, programming and systems architecture, this person will guide the team and the technical direction of the project.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with the managers, leads and programmers of the project to determine the technical vision of the project and define the direction of the game with a focus on the player’s satifaction;
  • Participate in Invoke's global technology strategy to maximize technology sharing between projects;
  • Work closely with the technical directors of the various crafts to ensure that development tools meet their needs and enable content creators to operate at their full potential;
  • Ensure game performance and optimization on various platforms (PC, Consoles, etc.);
  • Oversee the development of a network and online services architecture that will meet the needs of the project, while ensuring operating costs compatible with the game's business model;
  • Define the standards and pillars required for production, participate in the elaboration of a roadmap and ensure that development tools meet user needs;

Coach, recruit and lead the technical development team, providing guidance, support and training to help them reach their full potential.

Ideally, what You'll Bring

  • Over 10 years' experience in the development of AAA titles and ideally a multiplayer title;
  • More than 5 years' experience as Head of Gameplay, Engine or Online Programming on AAA titles;
  • Expertise in several of the following areas : network, online services, engine, optimization, gameplay;
  • Excellent command of the C++ programming language;
  • Extensive experience of working with major multiplatform engines;
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English;

Experience with Unreal Engine is a plus.
