Course Description : This course will consider many of the topics presented in the first half in much greater detail including a rigorous examination of the interpretation of experimental data.

This course is intended for students whose research or interest is in the thermodynamics of biological molecules. This course is restricted to Pharmaceutical Chemistry specialist program students.

Salary : $9,458 (includes 4% vacation pay)

Minimum qualifications

Applicants should at a minimum, possess an MSc or PhD and familiarity with content area.

Expert knowledge on the structure of the physical and structural properties of DNA and DNA ligand Complexes, thermodynamic systems, and protein interactions with nucleic acids.

Prior experience teaching material covered in PHC421 / PHM1130 related to biomolecular interactions and thermodynamics.

Knowledge of the Quercus platform for online course delivery is required and experience in online teaching is an asset.

Mastery may be demonstrated, but not limited to scholarly publications establishing expertise in the area, Teaching or TA experience in course with similar content.

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of equity, diversity and inclusion required.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with management and delivery of courses using University of Toronto or similar online systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas-based technologies, Zoom, etc.) is preferred.

Description of duties :

Teaching 18 in-class lecture hours over the period of the winter term (5 lectures x 1h / lecture) originally taught by R. Macgregor).

Coordinating lecture schedule, midterm(s), and final exam.

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content and assessments;

providing a list of relevant reading materials.

Prepare, organize, and delivery of course material, preparation and delivery of assignments; be available to students seeking assistance between classes;

evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
