ROLE SUMMARY : Our client, a leading real estate investment trust, is seeking an Property Accountant to join their team in Toronto, ON.
With a focus on data analysis, financial reporting, audit and controls, systems implementations, and process and strategy, our client offers exciting opportunities for professional growth and development.
THE OPPORTUNITY : As the Property Accountant, you will play a critical role in both Global Operational Reporting and Yardi Controllership Support.
Working closely with senior management, you will manage regional property reporting, external consolidated operational reports, and support the annual budgeting process.
Additionally, you will provide analytical assistance for managing Yardi processes and play a key role in managing reports and operational data.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented individual to showcase their financial and analytical skills and contribute to the success of a dynamic and growing company.
SUCCESS CRITERIA & DELIVERABLES : Hands-on involvement with month-end close within the first 3 monthsPreparation of quarterly regional board packages and MD&A disclosuresLeadership and coordination of the annual global property budgeting processSupport for corporate accounting, including setting up legal entities on Yardi and documentation of controlsSupport for leasing activity reportingYardi Controllership support, including user account setup and implementation of new modulesWHAT WE NEED FROM YOU : Intermediate proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.
3-4 years of Commercial Real Estate Accounting Experience in either Property or Corporate accounting roles.Fluency in Yardi and experience with data analysisCPA designation or in pursuit of CPA designationExperience with systems implementations, specifically Yardi.
