Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Contaminated Sites Hydrogeologist or Engineer to join our team in our Winnipeg office! In this role you will get to support environmental project work as it relates to site assessment, risk assessment / management and remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon and / or fertilizer impacted sites.

Candidates should have specialized knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines :

  • Conceptual site model and data gap analysis
  • Soil vapour intrusion
  • Risk assessment
  • Tier 2 site-specific guideline modification
  • Groundwater analytical and numerical models
  • Remedial technologies / options evaluation

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Thorough understanding of CCME regulatory frameworks is required; experience with other regulatory frameworks (AB, SK, MB, NWT) is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in GIS, databases and basic programming is an additional benefit.
  • Responsibility also includes regulatory communication and mentoring / supervision of junior staff.
  • Candidates should have a strong sense of self-motivation toward assigned projects with proven ability as a team player.
  • Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Parsons will give candidates the flexibility to work between office and / or remote locations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • 4-year degree in a scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive and diverse experience with contaminated sites in western and northern Canada
  • Direct / specialized experience in one or more of the disciplines listed.
  • Proficiency in various software applications typically used with the assigned discipline.
  • Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
  • Eligibility for registration in, or maintaining a good standing in, a professional organization.
