Why You’ll Love This Role
Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative student to join the Transport BU Product Line Management team in Ottawa, Ontario. The overall purpose of the PLM function is to ensure Lumentum has a compelling and profitable product portfolio through product definition, market engagement and lifecycle management.
Transport BU is a global leader in products for long haul optical transport networks, such as reconfigurable add-drop multiplexers (ROADMs), Wavelength selective switches (WSS) and optical channel monitors (OCM) delivering high capacity long haul transport capability to Telcom operators and hyperscale data centre operators.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist in managing product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and identifying opportunities for growth.

• Support the development of business cases, ROI models, and go-to-market strategies for new or existing products.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, sales, and finance to drive new product introductions (NPIs).

• Monitor product performance metrics and generate reports to inform decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

Any of the following would be considered a strong asset:

• Previous internship or co-op experience in product management, engineering, marketing, or operations.

• Familiarity with tools such as Agile, Jira, Tableau, Confluence or similar platforms.

• Experience or coursework or project experience related to optical communications, product lifecycle management, pricing strategy, or business analytics.

• Knowledge of or interest in telecommunicationsandoptics markets

Required

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

• Excellent leadership skills, combining critical thinking with empathetic and diplomatic communication
