Job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

Lightspeed is a one‑stop commerce platform that empowers merchants around the world to simplify, scale, and provide exceptional customer experiences. The Product & Technology org is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to lead our Cloud Efficiency Program, scale and expand it beyond Cloud Vendors. As the program lead, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the existing program to optimize our cloud and vendor costs, establish an efficient cost‑management system, and drive strategic changes across the organization to achieve long‑term savings for the company. The TPM will work cross‑functionally with engineering, product management, procurement, finance and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Successful candidates should have excellent communication, problem‑solving, and strategic planning skills.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Program Leadership : Manage the ongoing Cloud Efficiency Program, ensure successful delivery, planning for the next FY, expand coverage to SaaS vendors and AI. Consistently review and re‑define program goals, strategies, and success metrics to reduce and optimize cloud and vendor costs.
  • Cost Optimization : Analyze current cloud usage, vendor contracts, and costs. Identify inefficiencies and develop strategies to optimize resources and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
  • Project Management : Oversee multiple projects within the program, ensuring timely delivery, scope management, and budget adherence. Utilize agile methodologies to manage and track project progress.
  • Reporting and Follow‑ups : Own the reporting structure, including cost attribution tracking, monitoring, and alerting systems. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership : Help evolve the overall strategy with key stakeholders, providing insights into feasibility, timelines, risks, and cost to ensure program deliverables are aligned with strategic objectives. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, bring up issues to TPM and XFN leaders, and advocate for necessary changes across products and teams.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with multiple business units (including infrastructure, data teams, FP&A, and procurement) to balance centralized cost management systems with business units autonomy.

Continuous Improvement : Use automation, chatbots, and AI‑driven solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and scale impact across programs.

  • Risks : Manage cross‑functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
  • What you need to bring :

  • Experience : 7+ years of experience in technical program or project management, with a focus on cloud technologies and infrastructure. Proven track record of successfully running large‑scale programs across multiple organizations.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Technical Skills : Expertise with major cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud. Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, different types of contracts and plans, cost management, and optimization techniques.
  • Project Management Skills : Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical programs and projects, accountable for project success and proactively resolving any difficulties that occur.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and the ability to manage in an environment of ambiguity with a diverse range of partners.
  • Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive change across an organization.
  • What’s in it for you?

  • Ability to do your job in a truly flexible environment;
  • Genuine career opportunities in a company that’s creating new jobs everyday;
  • Work in a team big enough for growth but lean enough to make a real impact.
  • Opportunity to make a difference; help merchants grow their businesses and become more successful by creating or improving products and addressing customer feedback
  • Development of very high traffic products, used at the global scale
  • Opportunities to learn and expand your skill set
  • Become a valued part of the diverse and inclusive Lightspeed family
  • Where to from here?

    Obviously, this has to be mutually beneficial : we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day. For a glimpse into our world check out our career page here.
