As a Senior HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and environment efforts for our P3 business.
You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices related to HSE.
You will report directly to the Senior HSE Manager - Canada and you will work out of our Markham Offices on a hybrid work schedule.
The role holder is expected to travel within Canada and the US to P3 locations.
In this role, you will impact our organization by overseeing the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the P3 organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
- Ensure that the various P3 locations complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
- Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits (Including ISO14001 surveillance audits for some P3 locations) to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing solutions and preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
- Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
- Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management (GM up to VP Levels), the Americas HSE team and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.
- Participate actively as a member of and by leading Key Improvement Projects for HSE in Honeywell as and when needed.
- Act as a trusted business partner for the P3 Leadership
- Lead HSE Incident investigations
- Conduct Monthly HSE Meetings (MBR’s, HSE Champions and other HSE Meetings) for the P3 business and others as and when required.
- Run an MOS for HSE improvements at various P3 Locations.
- Run the HSE MS for the Offices and Low Risk Sites in Canada and conduct inspection and produce reports as and where required
- Provide HSE Coverage during vacations as and when required.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in HSE in industrial, field, facilities management, or construction disciplines.
- 4+ years of experience in health, safety, environmental regulations and best practices. Deep knowledge of provincial HSE regulations in Canada (Including Quebec) and working knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910.
- Travel up to 50% mainly in Canada and occasionally to the US
WE VALUE
- Certification in HSE or a related field is a plus. (CRSP, CSO)
- Holds or working towards Lead ISO 14001 Auditor
- Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
- MS office, Power BI, Intelex, TapRoot (Preferred), and have a high computer proficiency
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
- Passion for promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align HSE engineering with organizational goals.
- Experience in HSE programs development, improvement and deployment in consultation with workplace Health and Safety reps and committees as needed
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
