Job Overview

Branch Manager is an inspiring leader who is both a determined business-builder and a creative thinker. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch, the position manages a team that is passionate about sales and focused on delivering exemplary client service.

By developing and executing on a marketing strategy and business plan, this leader accelerates the growth of the branch’s personal and business banking deposits and lending revenues.

As a brand ambassador, the Branch Manager actively raises awareness of the credit union in the local neighborhood.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for the profitable growth of the branch’s personal and business banking segments as well as its lending portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • actively promoting the full range of IC Savings products and services through superb client prospecting, sales / closing, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • maintaining a sustainable sales prospect pipeline, conducting sales calls and qualifying opportunities based on customer information and a high level of due diligence;
  • identifying prospects in target markets, utilizing acquisition strategies and developing client retention strategies;
  • monitoring client portfolios for policy compliance, including KYC, AML / ATF and Privacy, and handling reviews, renewals and other servicing;
  • leading and developing a team of employees dedicated to client service excellence through motivation and mentorship;
  • raising awareness of the credit union through its involvement in the community;

What We’re Looking For

Experienced and professional, the ideal candidate is a proactive individual who is comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively on a team.

Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, this individual has excellent administrative, organizational and decision-making talents and an unrelenting focus on customer service.

Additionally, the ideal candidate has :

  • at least five years of related banking experience, with a thorough understanding of credit and deposit products and other banking services;
  • commercial banking experience an asset;
  • experience managing your clients’ wealth;
  • a university degree or college diploma in business, commerce, marketing or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Mutual Fund Accreditation (CIFC or CSC) along with two years in licensed sales :
  • excellent communication skills with ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust; working knowledge of spoken Italian or Portuguese is welcomed;
  • strong listening skills with ability to ask the right questions to truly meet the client needs;
  • excellent leadership, management, and coaching skills with high level of motivation;
  • entrepreneurial mindset and knowing how and when to close a sale;
  • proficiency in MS Office and the banking system;
  • a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Working Conditions / Physical Effort

  • Professional, team oriented, office environment in a branch setting.
  • Standard branch hours from Monday to Friday, plus Saturdays on a rotational basis;
  • Community relations and business development will involve some after-hours activities.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexibility to work at and / or relocate to another branch when business needs require it.
  • The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by being able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job;

these include, but are not limited to : sitting, standing, lifting of items ranging up to 25 pounds in weight, driving, regular use of computer and phone.
