Competitive salary range : $85,000-$100,000
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need :
- 3+ years experience in law firm (Wills & Estates preferred)
- Upholds professional ethics with integrity
- Relies on experience and sound judgement for goal achievement
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills
- Solid knowledge of legal procedures / statutes
- Ontario Bar member in good standing
About the role
If hired, you will :
- Assist with estate planning documents e.g. drafts of Wills and Powers of Attorney.
- Help to prepare trust documentation Deeds of Retirement and Appointment, Deeds of Substitution of Trustee, Blind Trust Agreements, etc.
- Assist with client valuation, and the collection, realization and management of estate assets.
- Prepare and file court forms for applications of certificates of appointment of estate trustee.
- Coordinate with the CRA and accountants regarding income tax obligations for trusts and estates.
- Prepare and file estate accounts according to the Rules of Civil Procedure for Passing of Accounts.
- Produce and submit reports on general trust activity to the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner.
