Job descriptionMinimum 2-5 years of post-call experience in corporate / commercial law. Experience in corporate / commercial law, including researching and drafting legal opinions, and negotiating and drafting various types of agreements. The preferred candidate will have experience in tender law and in SaaS / IaaS / PaaS, software, data processing, and managed services agreements. We are looking for an enthusiastic lawyer with strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to help deliver practical, business-focussed corporate and commercial legal services to a range of internal client groups.
Legal Counsel, Corporate Law provides strategic direction and ensures the provision of legal services in a cost-effective and timely manner considering the risks for Canada Post and its subsidiaries.
Job Responsibilities
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Legal Counsel, Corporate Law.
- Review, draft and negotiate various agreements, including procurement of goods and services.
- Prepare legal opinions on a variety of corporate, regulatory, and other issues.
- Provide practical, strategic, business-focused legal advice in a variety of related areas, including :
- Procurement (sourcing management)
- Corporate Governance
- Privacy
- Data and Corporate Security

Law degree from a recognized institution and membership in good standing with a provincial bar.
