As the Senior Account Executive, you will create and manage the sales pipeline to achieve growth initiatives and retention targets for group benefits through our specialty market distribution channel.

Balancing an entrepreneurial, customer-centric engagement approach you will deliver on business development excellence, leveraging and establishing a network of relationship pipelines, supporting complex negotiations with clients, and fostering long-term relationships.

How you will create impact :

Executing with accountability to drive sustainable top-line premium growth within Co-operators Group Benefits Sales third party distribution channel.

You will be responsible for proactively developing new business through prospecting and building relationships with our distribution partners.

  • Developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with existing market distribution teams to collaborate and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Proactively anticipate the needs of your clients / advisors, providing teaching, consultation, as well as exceeding their service expectations
  • Develop your own territory or account approach outlining sales and retention targets, planned initiatives and strategic marketing plans to grow and retain group business in this channel.
  • Leverage the unique differentiators and value proposition of Co-operators in your sale messaging.
  • Conduct finalist presentation and advisor / client presentations and seminars.
  • Researching and analyzing market trends and developing recommendations to improve processes, operational efficiencies, and sales strategies.

Building collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, sales teams, and clients to exceed client service standards.

Conducting meetings with business partners to uncover needs and provide insight into their group benefits program.

To join our team :

  • You have 3-5 years of related experience, including multi years of experience in Group Benefits Sales business development and relationship management.
  • You have expert knowledge of group benefits principles, practices and products and demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • You can problem solve and present solutions within a proper business plan.
  • You are a leader and can facilitate strategy calls and discussions.
  • You understand; TPA and TPP arrangements, ASO, Refund Accounting, Disability Benefits Integration, Flex-Benefits, Cafeteria Plans, Association and Affinity Plans.
  • You have knowledge of new business implementation, plan amendments, data feeds / uploads, and API connectivity.
  • You are proficient using MS Excel and using the program to analyse data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • GBA / CEBS designation is an asset.
