Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Transformation, the Strategic Transformation Consultant will lead and manage key initiatives to enhance service delivery, foster innovation, and drive organizational efficiency across the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).
This role provides strategic leadership, consultation, and project management to ensure the successful implementation of change management strategies, strategic accountability frameworks, process improvements, and performance standards that align with TDSB’s goals.
Summary of Duties :
Ø Lead and manage the development and implementation of strategic transformation projects and initiatives, ensuring process improvements across various TDSB functional areas.
Ø Work closely with Manager to develop detailed strategic plans to guide TDSB strategic transformation initiatives and implement key performance indicators.
Ø Collaborate with senior leaders to advance organizational performance management, service delivery, and change management initiatives.
Ø Provide consultation and advice to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams on strategy, innovation, service delivery, and change management across TDSB.
Ø Design, implement and maintain an Organizational Performance Management (OPM) framework to enable TDSB leaders to plan, track and report on strategic system initiatives.
Ø Responsible for the ongoing development, and maintenance of policies, procedures, standards and to align with evolving business priorities and stakeholder requirements.
Ø Recommend and implement options to enhance program / operational effectiveness and ensure optimal client satisfaction across TDSB.
Ø Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for the Office, collaborating with Communications and Public Affairs staff to leverage digital tools such as websites, social media, videos, and newsletters.
Ø Participate on various committees as a subject matter expert to provide leadership in the development of business best practices.
Ø Develop and manage service level agreements, ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective issue resolution.
Ø Research and implement operational best practices through benchmarking partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ø Responsible for supervision of staff including planning, staffing, hiring, training, and performance reviews.
Ø Design and deliver a suite of staff professional development programs to build staff capacity in business best practices.
Ø Provide regular status updates and recommended solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
Ø Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and services.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Ø University Degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration) with five years progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ø Extensive experience in project management.
Ø Sound knowledge of leadership and change management methodologies, and experience designing and implementing change management solutions.
Ø Proven success in building partnerships with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives.
Ø In-depth knowledge of quality management auditing practices, quality assurance methodologies and testing concepts.
Ø Demonstrated ability to apply quality principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ø Experience in designing and leading strategies that enhance staff innovation capabilities and client-focused service delivery.
Ø Ability to recommend and report on lessons learned, successes, and continuous improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
Ø Effective internal consulting, business coaching, consensus building and group facilitation skills.
Ø Strong presentation and communication skills, including proficiency in online and social media communication channels to promote initiatives and activities.
Ø Demonstrated resource planning, analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills.
Ø Successful supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring and team building skills.
Ø Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ø Proficient skills in Microsoft 365 applications, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google drives.
Ø Knowledge of and ability to implement digital / cloud-based analytical dashboards and tools.
Ø Proven ability in promoting equitable practices which value inclusiveness and diversity.
Special Requirements :
Ø Provision of own vehicle for Board business.
Ø Requires travel to TDSB sites on a regular basis
