Millwright - Maintenance Technician

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Millwright / Maintenance Technicians for an upcoming 2-4 month assignment in Southwestern Ontario.

You will earn :

  • $33.88-$35.13 per hour
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs associated on various machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Install repair and maintain machinery equipment and the facility.
  • Write and install custom PLC coding
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLC and HMI applications of automated process equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical maintenance
  • Use and interpret schematics and blueprints related to plant equipment
  • Practice and maintain standard operating procedures and remain compliant with all quality, safety, production and environmental rules, standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date maintenance database records
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of lock out tag out and confined space entry.
  • Experience with rigging of equipment, set-up and alignment of machinery and equipment
  • Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution
  • Maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Forklift, scissor lift and boom lift certifications (preferred)
  • Millwright certification or apprenticeship (preferred)
  • PLC technical certification with at least 2 years’ experience as a PLC programmer (preferred)
  • Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
