The opportunity
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to fulfill the development, enhancements and support for all data warehouse, data marts, reporting, data visualizations and dashboards for the Canadian Western Bank Financial Group.
This includes the documentation of all requirements and development details aligned to audit expectations.
As part of the Information Management team and in partnership with the business, you will utilize data from source systems to populate data assets and build attractive, intuitive and insightful information products.

What you will be responsible for
Assist business stakeholders in realizing their stated objectives through the use of data assets and information products that enable better and faster decisions and ensure completed solutions meet their specified requirements.
Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and business partners.
Develop complex, mission critical reports, projects and applications.
Deliver professional quality of data analysis and ETL processes to reduce the high consequence of error.
Gather and formally document the object inventory, capturing details including data sources and data requirements to fulfill internal and external audit requirements.
Build Extract, Transform, Load processes using SAS Data Integrator based on a logical model or design.
Perform peer code reviews to ensure consistency to design, development and maintenance standards.
Contribute to design and development standard methodologies and guidelines.
Monitor and remediate all issues with the data warehouse / data marts and reports.
Provide knowledge transfer to the other members of the development team.
Perform and support daily tasks such as job scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting and remediation.
Support testing of solutions in all applicable environments.
Support partners in the use of information products.
Assist with training materials, and demonstrations.
Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Participate in post-project implementation reviews or lessons learned’, incorporating these lessons into appropriate process documentation, standards templates and checklists.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Information Management leaders.
What you will bring to this role
College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related technology field.
Experience in database and / or reporting environments incorporating Microsoft SQL Server technology.
Strong query / data manipulation skills, especially utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL).
Experience in data warehouse or data mart design and development.
Experience with ETL processes / tools, SAS Data Integration studio considered a benefit.
Working knowledge of TFS or equivalent project management, development management tools.
Education in Advanced Mathematics and / or Statistics is an asset
Education or experience in Machine Learning and / or Artificial Intelligence is considered an asset
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to work with moderate supervision.
Experience working on complex assignments requiring continuous periods of concentration, with periodic interruption.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Good interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills, including Technical writing ability.
