Job Summary :

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our operations team! The successful candidate will be working closely with operations, IT, regulatory and finance teams to understand the challenges of business and offer the best solutions using data analysis and data processing.

Our ideal candidate has experience with complex data sets and the ability to document business requirements, deliver analytic solutions, and transform data driven insights into strategic opportunities.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT and third-party vendors.

Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analytics to deliver insights that will identify optimization opportunities and guide strategic decision making.

Oversee the design and delivery of data models, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.

Build data models using Azure Data Factory, SAP, various APIs, SQL servers, and Power BI.

Deliver data visualizations, dashboards and scorecards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Implement controls to ensure quality standards and compliance to regulatory requirements relating to user data access.

Provide ongoing support to deployed solutions and iterating to adapt to evolving business needs.

Explore industry leading Business Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to create deep insights that serve as a competitive differentiator.

Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions :

Combination of open office environment and working from home.

Some overtime required as special projects arise.

International travel may be required which will require a valid passport.

Minimum Requirements :

5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and / or data science.

5+ years of experience creating views, data consumption layers using SQL, python, and / or other languages to transform and integrate data from SQL databases.

5+ years of experience using Power BI (preferred), Tableau or other visualization platforms to create insightful and intuitive dashboards.

2+ years of experience developing diagnostic and predictive data models.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in technology (Computing Science or MIS) or business (Bachelor of Commerce).

Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study.

Experience with Machine Learning and AI.

Experience in the utilities sector (electricity and / or natural gas).

Ability to troubleshoot business problems and apply analytical techniques to solutions for operations.

Experience working with external partners, ideally including working with a Business Process Outsourcing vendor.

Ability to successfully prioritize initiatives and manage multiple competing priorities.

Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to various stakeholder groups in a simple actionable way.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Knowledge of Azure ML (machine learning), statistical modeling and algorithms (i.e. logistic regression, random forest, xgboost).

Deliver in an agile environment using Smartsheet.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Self-driven, detail-oriented, and skilled at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Strong facilitation skills.

Exceptional technical writing skills

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
