The Powerline Technician and Journeyman Electrician are responsible for preventative maintenance of all electrical components of light rail traction power and overhead contact systems (TP / OCS).
What will you do?
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications for light rail traction power and overhead catenary systems;
- Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with standards;
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
- Work in a safe manner, maintain a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures, applying safety training;
- Work collaboratively with other team members (track maintainers, systems technicians, etc.) in meeting standards and regulations;
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all required information;
- On-call coverage for emergency response on a rotating basis.
What will you need to succeed?
- Have a Powerline Technician Certification 434A
- Have a Journeyman Electrician Certification 309A
- Safety oriented
- A valid Class G Drivers License required DZ Preferred
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs
- Time Management
- Organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
