RoleOverview :
Speechlanguagepathologists diagnose assess and treat human communicationdisorders including speech fluency language voice and swallowingdisorders.
They are committed to improving patient health andwellbeing in a multidisciplinaryenvironment.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Diagnoseand evaluate speech voice resonance language fluencycognitivelinguistic and swallowing disorders through testsexaminations and observations.
- Develop andimplement remedial programs to correct variousdisorders.
- Collaborate in interdisciplinaryteams to establish personalized careplans.
- Educate and counsel patients and theirfamilies on communication and swallowingdisorders.
- Conduct research on communicationdisorders and diagnostic procedures.
- Superviseand instruct communicative disorders assistants students and otherhealthcarepersonnel.
Qualifications :
- Certifiedby the College of Audiology and SpeechLanguage Pathology of Ontario(CASLPO) and in good standing.
- Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonal skills.
- Acommitment to ongoing medicaleducation.
- Proficient in managing diversehealth issues across all agegroups.
