About the role

As a Specialist in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, you have the opportunity to create meaningful change to advance Intact’s DEI objectives through direct partnership within the business.

In this role, you will report to the Director of DEI, Mental Health & Well-being, as part of a mighty team of experts in the field.

You will build internal partnerships within the business to plan, deliver and evaluate impactful DEI initiatives. At Intact, you’ll grow your brand as an advisor and subject matter expert to support HR business partners, leadership, and employee champions to progress the DEI strategy.

What you’ll do here

  • Identify opportunities and strategies within business units to create value.
  • Lead project teams and / or major projects within the business to ensure progress on the DEI journey, benefiting the organization and employees.
  • Provide expertise, coaching and act as a strategic advisor to HR and leaders in matters related to DEI.
  • Nurture Intact’s DEI vision by providing data-driven insights and coaching.
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and evaluation of DEI initiatives, action plans, resources, and tools to advance our DEI goals at a business unit level.
  • Support employee relations as well as initiatives geared to under-represented talent that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at Intact.
  • Collaborate with Intact’s various Human Resources teams and Centres of Expertise to understand and solve DEI related challenges at a business unit level.
  • Benchmark best practices and collect / analyze organizational metrics to identify opportunities to strengthening DEI within business areas at Intact.
  • Build and execute project plans, change management plans, and contribute to communication plans.

What you bring to the table :

  • Experience in Human Resources with 3 or more years focus on DEI, anti-racism, and decolonization.
  • Experience leading and executing projects with a change management approach.
  • Strong consultation skills to use subject matter expertise to develop and deliver initiatives with consideration of best practices while aligning with company’s values, specific business unit needs and meet clients where they are.
  • Project and change management proficiency.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills to build and present impactful presentations for business audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to progress the DEI journey, build allyship and maximize collaboration across levels.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and reprioritize multiple tasks and initiatives with a focus on desired end-state.
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is required. Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking clients and colleagues across the country.
