My client, a manufacturing company is looking for an HR Generalist to support all human resources programs such as compensation and benefits, employee or labour relations and employee inquiries regarding Human Resource policies and procedures and identifying and / or resolving potential grievances.
The Role :
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves of absence, layoffs, vacation requests and attendance
- Produce HR metrics every month that include employee turnover, performance appraisal status, internal promotions and training
- Administration of absence management and claims management e.g WSIB, STD and LTD.
- Assist with implementing policies and procedures
- Participate in Health and Safety committee meetings, take minutes, workplace inspections, prepare reports and track KPIs.
- Delivery of training programs related to safety and compliance.
The Person :
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, or in the process of achieving.
- 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing and unionized environment
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Knowledge of employment law and practice as it relates to the Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards, and relevant Human Rights legislation.
- Experience working with UKG and / or Dayforce
