Machinist - Heavy Machine Operator (CofA & CofQ required)

Hourly rate of pay : $43.31

We have an opportunity for a Machinist (Heavy Machine Operator) to join our production team at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

THE OPPORTUNITY :

To machine large, heavy components for the manufacture of nuclear steam generators.

TASKS :

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools.
• Program CNC machines.
• Consistently maintain production of quality machine parts.
• Read and interpret Work Orders, Drawings, Shop Instruction Sheet (SIS) and supporting documents.
• Select appropriate tools and apply knowledge and experience of feeds and speeds.
• Work in a safe manner. Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.
• Operate Horizontal Boring Mills (prior experience on this equipment is essential).
• Machine large components (example : 3 to 5 meters in diameter).

• Proven commitment to workplace safety.
• Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations.
• Must have both a Certificate of Apprenticeship and a Certificate of Qualification.
• Knowledge and use of precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and write CNC programming.
• Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations (trigonometry, algebra).
• Proficiency and demonstrated ability on horizontal and vertical boring machines, supported by a minimum of one year experience.
• Availability to work all shifts : day shift (4x10, Monday-Thursday, 6am 4pm); afternoon shift (4x10, Monday-Thursday, 4pm 2am) or weekend day shift (3X11 paid for 40 hrs , Friday-Sunday, 6am 5pm).
