We are currently hiring an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join our team in the Structural Engineering for Bridge and Structures Group office in Barrie, Ontario.
This role offers the opportunity to showcase your technical and interpersonal skills by coordinating projects and working closely with clients.
Bridge Engineer Responsibilities and Duties :
- Structural design of new bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and structural repairs following CSA-S-CHBDC standards.
- Coordinating with clients, approving authorities, and outside design team members.
- Preparing Engineering Drawings, Specifications, and Cost Estimates for replacement or rehabilitation of existing bridge structures.
- Maintaining existing client base and expanding through business development and technical proposals.
- Overall Technical and Financial accountability for the Bridges group.
- Coordinating, Coaching, and Mentoring intermediate and junior staff.
Qualifications :
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Minimum of years of experience in design of transportation structures in Ontario.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CAN-S), and MTO Structural Manual.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and MS Project.
- Past work with MTO on the design and evaluation of complex structures (multi-span) is an asset.
- Independent, organized, and motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and within the organization.
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
