User Interface (UI) Developer
Safariland seeks a skilled UI Developer to spearhead the development and deployment of an advanced user interface within a multi‑tenant data lake solution that supports both cloud and on‑premises environments. This forward‑looking role will serve as the backbone for mobile applications connected to wearable technology used in military operations. The UI Developer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet stringent military requirements for data integrity, availability, and operational efficiency.
A key focus is creating an intuitive, user‑friendly dashboard that provides actionable insights from the data lake for military personnel. By incorporating user feedback and iterative testing, the dashboard will enhance situational awareness and operational effectiveness in high‑stakes environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop intuitive dashboard interfaces with clear, actionable visualizations to enable rapid decision‑making.
- Ensure seamless mobile‑app integration by implementing robust data pipelines and APIs for secure, real‑time connectivity, even in low‑bandwidth or offline conditions.
- Design and develop a scalable, secure data‑lake architecture for both cloud and on‑premises deployments, optimizing storage, retrieval, and processing for real‑time connectivity.
- Maintain data security and compliance with military‑grade encryption, access controls, and security protocols.
- Conduct rigorous testing—including performance and user‑acceptance tests—to refine the data lake and UI dashboard, focusing on scalability, reliability, and user experience.
Qualifications
University education with a master’s or bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of academic qualifications and experience.10+ years of advanced UI / dashboard development experience, with a foundation in database design and architecture (C# or PHP preferred).Ability to transform technical data and user feedback into creative, user‑centric UI that enhances UX.Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including excellent presentation capabilities.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact diplomatically with military end users, government stakeholders, and internal teams.Ability to work autonomously as an individual contributor or within cross‑functional teams.Excellent organization and time‑management skills.Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States.Seniority level
