Job Description

The Manager, Talent Management will provide proactive support across Kinross’ operations and is responsible for providing expert guidance on talent management initiatives and developing tools and processes that drive the organization’s talent strategies and goals, specifically with respect to Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Development Planning, Change Management, and Leadership Development.

This role requires a dynamic individual who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to execute HR initiatives that algin with organizational objectives, support our diverse cultures.

Job Responsibilities

Talent Management & Succession

  • Leads the succession planning at Corporate and provides guidance on the succession planning process globally
  • Supports the implementation of talent management initiatives, including leadership development, Culture & Inclusion programs, and succession planning
  • Creates programs to identify and develop top, emerging and valued talent below executive level
  • Ensures Talent Management programs are being effectively implemented and utilized consistently across operations
  • Works with functional leaders to identify global functional Talent Champions for the purpose of identifying and linking key talent to appropriate opportunities, company wide
  • Leads the identification of critical roles, including criteria for Critical Roles for Kinross globally
  • Facilitates Talent Review sessions in partnership with regions
  • Utilizes data-driven insights to anticipate talent needs and develop proactive solutions that enhance organizational performance.
  • Keeps up to date with best practices in Talent Management
  • Manages the talent mapping process to identify and develop high-potential employees
  • Collects, interprets, and analyzes HR data to generate actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. Prepare and present these insights in compelling narratives within executive-level decks, effectively telling the story behind the numbers.

Leadership Development

  • Builds and develops capability models and facilitates their operational integration across Leadership Development, Performance Management and Talent Management processes
  • Designs and implements operational leadership strategies
  • Accountable for individual development plan framework, strategy, and roll-out
  • Provides guidance and support globally for Individual Development Plans below the executive level working in partnership with the Kinross Talent Strategy team
  • Supports Regions in the implementation and delivery of Leadership programs for key talent
  • Prepares regular updates of Leadership implementation activities to OLT and SLT
  • Provides coaching to local HR managers as required to assist in the support of learning transfer at the site / department level
  • Designs and implements Professional Development Program and Generation Gold rotational programs
  • Leads the design, and delivery of customized leadership development program for high-potential future leadership succession management

Development Planning & Career Development

Assists with the ongoing administration, change management and continuous improvement of development planning and career development processes and systems

Performs qualitative 360 Feedback assessments and debriefs globally

Provides guidance on career and individual development

Optimizes system tools for career development to suit organizational needs

Performance Management

  • Implements Performance Management process across Kinross operations and ensures compliance to the strategy
  • Develops tailored training programs, to meet specific site and regional nuances and facilitates / supports implementation
  • Accountable for communicating programs and ensuring that leaders and participants are informed and engaged.
  • Accountable for overall design of Performance Management system (SuccessFactors)
  • Keeps up to date with Best Practices in Performance Management

Organizational Development

  • Liaise with senior leaders related to influencing change and achieving greater effectiveness by developing, improving and reinforcing strategies to improve efficiencies
  • Leveraging existing talent strategies to drive business operational strategies that align for future growth

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources / Organizational Design or business related field
  • Additional specialized education of up to 4 years
  • Formal professional or technical registration in appropriate area of expertise
  • A Master’s degree in Organization Development is considered an asset
  • Certification in Change Management

Experience

  • Generally more than 8 years of related work experience or equivalent
  • Strong change management background or organizational development experience
  • Sound understanding of area of expertise
  • Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred
