Project Summary
The scope is to provide expert support to the Individual Partnerships and Payment Solutions team. The role will focus on identifying design and implementation activities that support technical design, deployment, configuration, system integration, implementation, and infrastructure testing—including integrated load, stress, performance, and scalability—in the migration of the Canadian Benefit for Parents of Young Victims of Crime, Apprenticeship Grants, and Coal Workforce Transition Program from the legacy system to the new Individual Grants and Contributions System.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of recent experience working as an IT Security Engineer or similar.
- 5+ years of experience with security protocols and tools such as IPSec, SSL, SSH, IPv6, IDS / IPS, firewalls, DNS / NTP.
- 3+ years of experience with Security Assessment & Authorization processes, such as SAQ, SoSAR, PIA, BIA, RBAC, and ATO documentation.
- 3+ years of experience preparing security documentation and conducting audits / IV&V, including technical reports, implementation plans, and SOPs / ConOps.
- 2+ years of expertise with Azure DevOps for reporting, tracking, and team collaboration.
- Must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance and have experience working with the Federal Government.
- Must have a Canadian university degree or college / CEGEP diploma related to computer science, business administration, information technology, engineering, or an equivalent recognized by a Canadian academic credentials assessment service. A copy of the degree or diploma must be provided upon request.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and apply security policies, standards, and frameworks relevant to IT security.Ensure compliance with directory standards such as X.400, X.500, and SMTP.Maintain and secure operating systems, including Windows, Unix, Linux, and Novell.Evaluate and secure networking protocols, including HTTP, FTP, and Telnet.Implement secure IT architecture fundamentals, standards, communication methods, and security protocols such as IPSec, IPv6, SSL, and SSH.Assess and recommend IT security protocols for all layers of the OSI model and TCP / IP stacks.Manage DNS and NTP configurations and security.Configure and secure network routers, multiplexers, and switches.Apply application, host, and network hardening techniques, including shell scripting, service identification, and access control.Implement and manage intrusion detection / prevention systems, malware defense mechanisms, file integrity monitoring, enterprise security management, and firewalls.Assess and secure wireless technology in compliance with security standards.Evaluate and apply cryptographic algorithms for data protection.Identify and analyze technical threats and vulnerabilities within networks.Manage IT security configurations and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.Analyze and evaluate IT security tools and techniques for effectiveness.Gather, analyze, and interpret security data to provide advisories and actionable reports.Prepare technical reports, including security solutions option analysis and implementation plans using Azure DevOps.Provide Independent Verification and Validation support for projects, including conducting audits and providing necessary documentation.Review and assess contingency plans, business continuity plans, and disaster response plans.Design, develop, and conduct tests and exercises for IT security protocols.Oversee security-related projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals.Develop and deliver relevant training materials for team members and stakeholders.Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide coaching to enhance the skills of team members.Continuously improve security posture by staying updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies, adopting agile methodologies for iterative development.About NTT DATA
