Cozen O'Connor LLP est à la recherche d'un(e) assistant(e) juridique bilingue pour travailler sur une base hybride à partir du bureau de Montréal.

Il s'agit d'un poste contractuel de 18 mois pour un remplacement de congé de maternité. L'assistant(e) juridique fournira un soutien essentiel à l'avocat en subrogation tout en maintenant l'efficacité, une grande attention aux détails et la capacité de travailler dans un environnement à volume élevé et à un rythme rapide.

TÂCHES ET RESPONSABILITÉS DU POSTE :

  • Rédaction, révision et amendement de divers documents juridiques en lien avec le litige.
  • Ouverture de nouveaux dossiers.
  • Préparation de rapports de dépense.
  • Préparation de factures et autres documents administratifs.
  • Copie, impression, envoi et assemblage de documents.
  • Préparation et entretien de dossiers clients sur supports papier et électronique.
  • Coordonner le travail des fournisseurs.
  • Planifier et coordonner les réunions et les conférences, y compris l'accueil des clients et la distribution du matériel.
  • Coordonner et planifier les préparatifs de voyage comprennent : le transport, la location d'automobiles et les réservations d'hôtels.
  • Tenir à jour les calendriers des avocats, au besoin.
  • Effectuer les entrées de temps, au besoin.
  • Assister, au besoin, d’autres avocats (basés dans d’autres bureaux de Cozen O’Connor).
  • Les responsabilités associées à l'emploi peuvent changer de temps à autre en fonction des besoins de l'entreprise; le titulaire peut être tenu d’exécuter d’autres tâches qui lui sont assignées.

QUALIFICATIONS ET EXIGENCES :

  • Doit être bilingue (français et anglais).
  • De 1 à 3 ans d'expérience juridique ou connexe est préférable.
  • Connaissance du système juridique québécois.
  • Connaissance du système juridique Ontarien est un atout.
  • Maîtrise des logiciels Microsoft, incluant un niveau avancé dans Microsoft Word et Outlook.
  • Communications professionnelles écrites et verbales exceptionnelles; la capacité d'interagir professionnellement avec les clients, les avocats et le personnel est requise.
  • La capacité de faire des heures supplémentaires est requise.
  • Solides compétences en traitement de documents et en dactylographie.
  • Solides compétences en gestion de projet.

Cozen O’Connor LLP is seeking a Bilingual Legal Practice Assistant to work on a hybrid-basis out of the Montreal office.

This is an 18-month contract position. The Legal Practice Assistant will provide essential support to the Subrogation lawyer while maintaining efficiency, high attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepares, reviews and amends various legal documents related to litigation.
  • Opens new matters.
  • Prepares expense reports.
  • Prepares invoices and other case administration documents.
  • Duplication, printing, mailing, and merging of documents.
  • Prepares and maintains files both in electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Liaises with third party vendors when necessary to coordinate services.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings and conferences, including greeting client and distribution of material.
  • Coordinates and schedules travel arrangements which include : transportation, automobile rentals, and hotel reservations.
  • Maintains lawyers’ calendars, as necessary.
  • Accurately inputs lawyers’ time into the accounting system, as needed.
  • Responsibilities associated with the job may change from time to time in accordance with business needs; incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assisting other lawyers (in other Cozen O’Connor offices) as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be bilingual in French and English.
  • 1 -3 years of legal or related experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Quebec Legal system.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Legal system an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications with advanced level in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Outstanding written and verbal professional communications; ability to professionally interact with clients, lawyers, and staff is required.
  • Ability to work overtime is required.
  • Strong document processing skills and typing skills.
  • Strong project management and technical skills.
