Responsibilities
- Here are the responsibilities for this Technical Writer at this leader in the aerospace in Ville Saint-Laurent;
- Learn new technologies using various software tools to create documents
- Determine requirements for Technical Documentation
- Gather data from technical staff through emails, interviews, etc.
- Read and analyze schematics and engineering drawings
- Collaborate and interact with Product Specialist, Technical Authority, and Technical Instructors to verify content
- Plan, research, write and edit hardware and software user documentation
- Author documents using S1000D XML Editor and MS Word
- Customize data based on the differences in the BOM, schematics, drawings, etc.
- Perform desktop validation (i.e., compare engineering documentation versus data module content) and hands-on validation
- Conduct internal Peer Reviews
- Coordinate reviews and signoff processes
- Provide innovative ideas and solution to improve documentation and documentation processes
Qualifications
- Here are the qualifications required for this Technical Writer at this leader in the aerospace in Ville Saint-Laurent;
- University degree or College diploma in Communications, Computer Science
- 8-10 years of experience as a Technical Writer
- Excellent French and English oral and written communication skills, with an attention to detail and an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information
- Ability to work under pressure and to easily flow with change to priorities and projects
- Organized, with an ability to manage time and adapt to changing requirements
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in S1000D XML authoring tool and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of HTML and DITA
