ABOUT THE ROLE

At BMQ, a division of Amrize, we are a group of employees with a wide range of skills. Our BMQ division of Amrize facility is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill several volumetric concrete mixer operator positions.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Driving a truck responsibly and in compliance with traffic safety regulations, Law 430, and occupational health and safety rules.
  • Ensuring that delivery slips are completed according to your supervisor's instructions.
  • Inspecting the volumetric concrete mixer and performing a safety check before departure.
  • Performing maintenance (lubrication, cleaning the screw, and washing the concrete mixer) upon return from a delivery.
  • Reporting any vehicle or equipment malfunctions or any anomalies on a construction site to your supervisor.
  • Operate a loader to load aggregates into trucks and transport stone and sand to their respective locations.
  • Measure concrete for the customer according to the mix calibration book and make adjustments to the mix on site as directed by the site technician.
  • Check the slump of the concrete according to instructions and notify the dispatcher/measurer when it is not compliant.
  • Drive your vehicle with caution, vigilance, and attention at all times.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Possession of a D.E.S. or D.E.P. in heavy machinery operation would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 3 manual and FM license and Essential - Clean driving record.
  • Good knowledge of Montreal and its suburbs.
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Ability to work in a team and recognized interpersonal skills.
  • Work with respect for the customer.
  • Knowledge of concrete is an asset.
  • No compromises when it comes to safety.
  • Available outside normal working hours for emergencies.


Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
