Reporting to the Vice President of Operations & Strategic Initiatives, the General Manager of Toronto will be responsible for the development, execution, and success of some exciting initiatives at Skip .
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with a core city squad’ of individual SMEs across all departments in the organization.
As the lead of this squad, the GM will be responsible for setting the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly objectives for the squad, help lead them from ideation to execution, and ultimately be responsible for championing and leveraging the squad to drive fast, meaningful tests from incubation through to scale to realize results.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, entrepreneurial, loves to analyze data and will think critically to make the right decisions quickly while working in a cross-functional environment.
They are not afraid of failure, but see it as an opportunity to learn and adapt, seeking opportunities to test hypotheses in an effort to figure out quickly what works and what doesn’t.

The role will require :
- Local Strategy Development : Develop and own the strategic vision for your city
- Operational Execution : Execute the strategies with solutions that are specific, granular and where appropriate scalable and repeatable.
Embrace continuous improvement to create micro improvements across the city
- Performance Metrics : Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and SLA's specific to the city while measuring the success of initiatives and identify areas for improvement
- City partner supply : Ensure we have the best supply in a city, track competitor supply, manage a local pipeline and identify and prevent any high risk churn
- Local Engagement : ensure local marketing is targeted to the needs and preferences of the city's residents
- Experimentation : Run tests, scale insights, and navigate multiple paths forward in building a business within a competitive market
Recipe For Success :
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience, including P&L ownership and team leadership (direct or indirect)
- Experience in developing and executing strategic programs, managing the lifecycle from ideation through to execution
- A strategic and critical thinker with a broad perspective, capable of understanding and integrating complex issues within the wider organizational and market context.
- A relationship-first approach, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong, productive relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Experience working in a matrixed, cross functional organization
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives, facilitating decision-making and strategic alignment
