Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager specializing in IT infrastructure will manage complex projects related to IT infrastructure systems.

Leveraging their extensive experience and expertise, he / she will lead all aspects of the project scope, budget, and schedule.

This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, project management methodologies, and exceptional leadership skills to drive innovation and achieve strategic objectives.

REPORTING

The Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure, reports directly to the Senior Director, IT Governance and Planning, and will be assigned to different IT projects.

ResponsIbilities

• Support senior leadership to scope IT infrastructure projects and support kick-start activities.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates, to support project execution.
• Lead project teams, providing guidance, support, and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive project execution efforts, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and quality standards, while mitigating risks and addressing issues proactively.
• Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and operations team to achieve project objectives.
• Facilitate alignment between IT infrastructure projects and other organizational initiatives to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work with IT Infrastructure managers to allocate resources effectively to support IT infrastructure project activities, including personnel, technology resources, and third-party services.
• Identify risks associated with IT infrastructure projects, developing, and implementing mitigation plans to ensure project success.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide timely and transparent updates on project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Examples of projects :

• The creation of an asset management database that will focus on the financial and physical attributes of IT assets, from acquisition to decommissioning.
• The creation of a configuration management database (CMDB) from various existing inventories. The CMDB will focus on systems and interconnections to support IT services.
• The development of processes for the IT operations team to help manage the entire IT assets lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL Expert, CISSP) preferred.
• Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in project management, with a focus on IT infrastructure projects in complex enterprise environments.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and architecture, including networks, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge in project management tools and processes.
• Good ability to document and communicate in English and French.
