About the Role
In FTI Consulting’s Restructuring & Turnaround segment, we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. We are a global consulting firm with over 8,000 employees worldwide with a team of over 100 employees located in every major location in Canada. We operate in small engagement teams to provide direct hands-on experience to our clients. We have opened a few years ago our Montreal corporate finance and restructuring practice and are excited to increase our headcount at our Montreal office..
What You’ll Do
The Senior Director will work with clients in domestic and multinational companies across various and diverse industries. Some of the job responsibilities will include :
- Overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of restructuring and / or transactions related projects including interaction with top restructuring experts in the industry, legal and finance professionals from other firms and senior client management
- Apply business, accounting, finance and analysis skills to various client situations and practice disciplines
- Review financial statements and perform quality of earnings analysis
- Prepare and / or review complex financial projections to model business processes and / or actual or hypothetical transactions (including operating as a going concern, sale of the company, liquidation, etc.)
- Assess business plans, cash flows, and analyze large amounts of data associated with restructuring plans
- Conduct financial due diligence and financial analysis of clients and potential target companies
- Understand all aspects of the client’s business including review of operational and financial performance (such as actual vs. budget variance analysis on cash flow results)
- Draft written reports and / or presentations for third parties on the project scope, findings and / or results of activities
- Work with the client’s senior management, legal counsel, and investment bankers for the sale of the business, non-core operations or other assets to complete the transaction
- Manage the engagement team and provide coaching to junior team members
