JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Enterprise Project Office team in the role of a Data Integration Specialist located in Courtice, Ontario .

The Data Integration Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Section Manager through deploying code changes to the TIBCO EBX Platform, handling SQL ETL and TSQL scripting tasks, and facilitating direct communication with stakeholders.

Your expertise in data integration, SQL scripting, and stakeholder management will contribute to the successful execution of our projects.

This position is within OPG's Enterprise Project Organization and is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure to projects across different lines of business including Renewable Generation, Nuclear Refurbishment, IT Projects, New Nuclear and more!

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deploy code changes to the TIBCO EBX Platform, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand code changes and their impact on the TIBCO EBX Platform.
  • Perform SQL ETL tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading, to support data integration processes.
  • Develop and maintain TSQL scripts for data manipulation, data validation, and data cleansing.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify data quality issues, data inconsistencies, and opportunities for data optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, database administrators, and business analysts, to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data integration processes, identifying and resolving any performance or operational issues.
  • Maintain documentation for data integration processes, code changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data integration, SQL scripting, and relevant technologies.

EDUCATION

4-year university degree, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with expertise in CI / CD methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in CI / CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD, or CircleCI.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems like Git and SVN.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Application Server and its deployment processes is a definite asset.
  • Experience with SQL, ETL, and database administration, including performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and debug complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well, both verbally and written, is essential.
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Comfortable working with / learning the application of various computer systems and software.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
