Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Facility Management and / or designate, the incumbent performs installation, testing, analysis, maintenance and repair tasks of any degree of complexity on hospital buildings and grounds, building services, building service equipment and a wide variety of departmental equipment.
Responds to emergency calls throughout the facility, making repairs as required in conjunction with appropriate trades where applicable.
Experience
- 3 years' experience in a variety of facets of maintenance of buildings, building services, building service equipment and departmental equipment.
- Previous experience in a health care facility would be an asset.
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards required.

Qualifications and Skills
- Must be capable of handling power tools and hand tools.
- Demonstrable ability to perform basic plumbing and mechanical repairs / maintenance.
- Demonstrable ability to perform basic repairs to doors (including hardware) windows, walls and floors in a commercial setting.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
- Ability to effectively handle emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic ability to use Windows based software programs.
- Discreet and confidential in all Hospital, patient / resident related matters.
