We’re a family in New Westminster looking for a nanny to help out 2 days / week on a long-term basis to care for our 16 month old daughter. We’re looking for someone who is warm and responsive to our child while also being organized and reliable. All care would be provided at our home unless you would like to take baby out for a walk or activity in the stroller or carrier.

Availability

Ideally, we would like coverage Mondays and Tuesdays (preferred), or Mondays and Fridays, but we have some flexibility in what set days we decide on together. We require a nanny to work between 7-8 hours with a set time that is flexible between 8 : 30am-6pm. We will set a regular schedule in discussion with the nanny we choose. Stat holidays will not be worked or paid.

Start date late March-early April 2025 by mutual agreement.

Location

We are close to the Justice Institute in New Westminster. We are located a 1.3km walk up the hill from Sapperton Skytrain station, and are close to bus stops for the 128 and 155 buses.

Nanny Responsibilities

• Administers one-on-one care and meets the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of baby
• Contributes to a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment
• Puts baby down for naps / bedtime following established routine
• Playing with and entertaining baby at home, or out on walks
• Occasionally bottle feeding baby
• Changing diapers
• Tracking activities and keeping baby on schedule
• Helping baby safely eat solid foods
• Light meal prep for baby (eg. warming a bottle / prepared food or chopping fresh food into small pieces for baby)
• Cleaning up after baby meal times
• Light housework when baby is asleep (sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, etc).

Experience and Qualifications Required :

• Minimum 3 years experience caring for infants / toddlers
• First Aid
• Background check
• Preferred : Early childhood education certificate

Additional requirements :

• Non-smoker
• Fully vaccinated

Wage : $22 / hour and 4% vacation pay before taxes, but the rate is negotiable for the right person. You will be paid through payroll and receive a T4 at the end of the year. We offer flexibility with advance notice, and a relaxed work environment. We want this role to work for you too!
