Safeway Canmore is seeking a part time or full time Baker/ On the Job Training - to join our Bakery Department, producing baked goods according to Company recipes and standards, rotating product, culling for freshness and providing outstanding customer service. The candidate will be provided training and be offered a rewarding career opportunity for progression as well as a competitive starting wage rate. - Fries donuts and performs oven duties (Alberta and British Columbia Only)
- Prepares a variety of bakery products in accordance with Safeway recipes and high standards in order to produce a superior quality product that satisfies customers’ expectations
- Responsible for preparing baked goods in accordance with company standards on merchandise presentation
- Receive and put away product orders
- Cleaning and sanitizing of bakery equipment
- Receiving and rotating of baked product
- Filling Bakery showcases
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Possess strong customer service qualities
- Works in a safe and responsible manner
- Available to work flexible hours
- Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged
- Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)
- Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Frequent hand coordination, bending pushing, pulling and twisting
- Occasional lifting of between 20-50 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
- Constant standing, walking, gripping, reaching
