Job description

Welder Apprentice (1st or 2nd Year)

Are you an ambitious 1st or 2nd-year Welder Apprentice looking for a shop where you can actually build a long-term career?

Stop bouncing between short-term gigs and join our thriving SE Edmonton facility. This is a temporary-to-permanent role focused heavily on custom aluminum fabrication. We will actively train you in specialized MIG aluminum welding, even if your background is just general steel!

Overview:
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (plus plenty of optional overtime)
Job Type: Temporary-to-Permanent, Full-time
Location: SE Edmonton, AB
Pay Rates: $22.80/hour (1st-Year) $25.00/hour (2nd-Year)

Advantages
Exceptional Work-Life Balance: Clock out at 3:30 PM every weekday. We value your personal time, so your weekends remain entirely your own.

Bankable Weekly Income: Never wonder when your next paycheck is coming. You get paid dependably every single Friday through Randstad.

Elite Trade Mentorship: Aluminum MIG welding is a highly sought-after, premium skill. You will get paid to learn it directly from our master welders.

Lucrative Overtime Potential: Want extra cash? Take advantage of our abundant overtime options to seriously bump up your weekly take-home pay.

Responsibilities
Execute precise MIG welding across diverse materials, transitioning smoothly between aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.

Partner directly with our senior fabrication team to construct premium, high-quality aluminum goods from the ground up.

Act as a reliable right-hand to our journeyman welders, eagerly stepping up for complex custom shop projects.

Take ownership of your workstation by rigorously maintaining, cleaning, and calibrating your essential welding gear.

Champion our shop floor safety standards, ensuring every shift is hazard-free for you and your hardworking crewmates.

Qualifications
Must hold active status as a Registered 1st or 2nd-Year Welder Apprentice in Alberta.

Solid foundational welding knowledge, with a strong preference for candidates who have baseline MIG experience.

High School Diploma (or equivalent educational background).

Up-to-date and valid WHMIS safety certification.

Ability to successfully pass a standard criminal background check prior to starting.

A relentlessly positive, "sponge-like" attitude—you must be hungry to absorb new techniques in a fast-moving, high-output facility!
