One of our clients, a company that produces transformers is looking to hire Electrical Designer on a long term contract basis with high potential of going permanent.

Description

Working knowledge of single and three phase oil filled distribution up to 3MVA - 34.5KV and Power transformers up to 15MVA - 69kV

Design oil filled distribution and Power transformers on time, at cost, and to CSA / IEEE or Customer technical specification.

Design different type of transformer core and windings such as wound core or stacked core.

Maintain a working database of conductor and insulating materials to be warehoused.

Working with the Engineering team to analyze and optimize existing products.

Prepare a list of engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and budget control of the engineering budget.

Maintain the project scope of work documentation and revisions as required during the design evolution.

Review and execute the electrical and layout design criteria documents.

Review electrical technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.).

Assist in the preparation and development of project-specific procedures.

Define the system requirements to achieve the project results and monitor effectiveness.

Represent the electrical practice in project engineering coordination meetings.

Participate in electrical design reviews and transformer testing (routine and special tests)

Ensure that all work designed, manufactured, and supplied in the electrical engineering discipline complies with the relevant sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

Requirements :

• 5+ years of Electrical Design experience
• Experience with electrical codes and standards or IEC standards
• Experience with high voltage transformers
• Experience with protection systems
• Experience with engineering calculations and analysis
• Experience with oil filled distribution

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00 / hr.
