Job description

Education & Programs Coordinator

Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop – National Support Office (Kelowna, BC)

Full-Time | In-Office | $55,000 – $65,000

About Tommy Gun’s

Tommy Gun’s is more than a barbershop; it’s a global brand built around delivering The Ultimate Barbershop Experience. With 100+ locations across Canada, the USA, Australia, and New Zealand, we are growing quickly and continuing to invest in our people, systems, and education.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for someone who can bring structure, energy, and ownership to a wide range of initiatives that shape how our network learns, operates, and grows.

This is a broad, hands-on role that touches multiple parts of the business. You’ll be coordinating national education programs, improving systems, supporting Business Owners, and helping elevate how we train and communicate across the network.

You’ll report directly to the Chief Innovation Officer and work closely with leaders across operations, marketing, and education.

If you’re highly organized, strong with systems, and enjoy building things that actually get used, this will be a great fit.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Barber Education Program

  • Coordinate and support the national education program across the network
  • Work directly with 4 Regional Educators to develop and launch new programs
  • Organize Train-the-Trainer programs, trend collections, and education rollouts
  • Support national calls, events, and ongoing education initiatives
  • Help ensure consistency in how barbering excellence is delivered across all Shops

Learning Management System (Tommy Gun’s University)

  • Own the day-to-day management of Tommy Gun’s University (TGU)
  • Improve the system through content, structure, usability, and engagement
  • Coordinate course creation, updates, and rollout of new learning programs
  • Support the evolution of TGU into a more effective and user-friendly platform

Operational Documentation

  • Develop and refine key operational documents (Operations Manual, Quick Reference Guides, etc.)
  • Translate how we operate into clear, usable systems
  • Continuously improve documentation to reflect best practices across the network
  • Help with the digitization of Tommy Gun's operational content

Barber Recruitment Programs

  • Manage recruitment platforms (including Workable)
  • Support partnerships with barber schools and training programs
  • Participate in industry events for recruitment
  • Help drive initiatives that attract and develop new talent into the network

Business Owner Training

  • Coordinate onboarding and training for new Business Owners
  • Support the structure, scheduling, and delivery of training programs
  • Ensure a consistent and strong start for every new Shop and every new Business Owner.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team on continually improving the training program.

Internal Communications (Razor)

  • Manage and maintain Razor, our internal platform for managing key documents.
  • Help ensure key updates, tools, and resources reach the right people

Other Initiatives

  • Support various projects that improve and evolve the Tommy Gun’s system
  • Help the CIO with various innovation projects, events, and other key initiatives.
  • Take ownership of new strategies and help move them forward

What We’re Looking For

  • Highly organized (you don’t drop balls)
  • Strong written communication skills (you can make things clear and simple)
  • Available for travel throughout our Network
  • Comfortable with systems, platforms, and learning new tools quickly
  • Able to coordinate people and keep things moving
  • Hard working, reliable, and takes ownership
  • Positive, team-first mindset

Bonus (not required):

  • Experience in education, training, or franchising
  • Exposure to barbering, salons, or retail/service environments

This role directly impacts how our teams are trained, how our systems are built and used, how new Shops get started, and how we attract and develop talent.

In short, your work helps shape the experience in every Shop across the network.

Why Tommy Gun’s

  • A growing global brand with real momentum
  • A team that moves fast and gets things done
  • Opportunity to build, improve, and make an impact
  • A culture that values people, performance, and progress
