Job descriptionOversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in production processes. Implement best practices in lean manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain management. Oversee all aspects of precision manufacturing operations, ensuring that production schedules are met with adherence to quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Implement and optimize advanced manufacturing technologies and processes to improve productivity and reduce cycle times. Monitor KPIs to evaluate operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall operational metrics. Establish and maintain strict quality control practices and protocols to meet industry standards and customer expectations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Six Sigma and other methodologies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Manage the operations budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure effective resource allocation to achieve profitability and cost reduction goals. Utilize data analytics to drive decision‑making and reporting on operational performance metrics. Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources. Analyze financial performance, making data‑driven decisions to optimize profitability. Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled operations team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development in advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies. Conduct performance evaluations and set goals for team members to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies. Promote a safe working environment, implementing safety protocols and training for all personnel. Identify and evaluate new technologies and processes that can enhance manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness. Lead change management initiatives and encourage innovative problem‑solving approaches within the organization. Drive innovation within the organization by identifying opportunities for technology adoption and process improvement in precision machining. Stay up to date with industry trends to position the company for future growth opportunities. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of 5‑axis machining processes and advanced manufacturing technologies. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives. Proven track record of achieving operational efficiencies and driving performance improvements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. Position Overview
Tipco is now looking for a dynamic individual to step into a newly created role, Vice President of Operations. Tipco’s Vice President of Operations will be responsible for managing and advancing the company’s Canadian manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated results‑oriented individual that is focused on driving operational excellence, optimizing production processes, and implementing strategic initiatives that maximize efficiency and productivity. The right candidate will have extensive hands‑on precision manufacturing and management experience – including a strong track record of developing and implementing Industry 4.0 strategies.
