From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Industrial Test Lead in Kingston, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your testing and technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and forward-thinking team of professionals.

Manage industrial test means of products and projects from prototype, serial to maintenance phases. Ensure industrial test data, sequence and tools are always available for production all along the product and project life cycle.

You'll play a critical role in developing and leading the Industrial Testing function for the manufacturing of signaling and network bungalows. Ensure that every bungalow passes Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), meets industrial quality standards, and is ready for handover to Test & Commissioning (T&C). Establish test processes, supervise the test team, and ensure robust test governance.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Industrial, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Installation and EHS)

We'll look to you for:

  • Define and deploy Industrial test roadmap including tools obsolescence
  • Deploy Signaling Design For Testing (DFT) rules and test industrial standard processes (for products and projects)
  • Define and maintain the FAT strategy for bungalows, approve final FAT results and authorize release of bungalows
  • Own the design and continuous improvement of test procedures
  • Define pass/fail criteria with Engineering and Quality
  • Ensure all factory tests are executed correctly including Power-on tests, Wiring continuity, Insulation resistance, Subsystem integration checks, Panel/rack verification, I/O and interface checks
  • Ensure NCRs are raised, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Plan testing workloads in alignment with the master production schedule
  • Develop and foster industrial standard test platform
  • Optimize the industrial test chain / strategy on products to increase QCD manufacturing productivity
  • Define test equipment needs (e.g., power analyzers, network testers, SCADA simulators)
  • Ensure availability of test benches, tools, simulators, and equipment following production and test plan
  • Manage procurement, calibration, and maintenance of testing tools
  • Ensure EHS compliance during all test activities
  • Work closely with Industrialization team to integrate testing requirements into WIs and routing
  • Interface with Engineering to clarify schematics, wiring diagrams, and configuration needs
  • Interface with T&C for handover documentation and technical continuity
  • Develop and maintain industrial test means for product & project with EHS mind-set
  • Manage industrial test means per product during all life cycle and optimize their maintenance cost
  • Ensure application of Signaling Skill standards (tools, processes, specification)
  • Lead and develop a team of Industrial Test Engineers, Test Technicians and develop team competencies
  • Manage budget and CAPEX dedicated to industrial test tools

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent experience
  • 8-10+ years of testing experience in signaling, electrical integration, automation, or related complex systems
  • Experience with FAT, integration tests, or electrical testing
  • Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing principles
  • Experience managing technical teams
  • Strong experience in test principles and methods including strategy, testability, test coverage, test tool capacity, test validation
  • Prior Experience in test tools and means (In-Circuit, Flying Probe, functional test bench, AOI, calibration tool programing language, test sequence language)
  • Prior Experience in test bench structure and principle
  • Prior Experience in technical and QCD quotation of testing means
  • Railway signaling experience preferred
  • Knowledge of product/system technical requirements and project management practices
  • Local EHS regulation understanding and awareness
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
