Position Description :
To provide emergency medical care to the residents of Norfolk County.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience :
- Successful completion of a diploma in Emergency Care / Paramedicine from a Community College in Ontario.
- EMCA or A-EMCA certified by the Ministry of Health.
- Certification as a Primary Care Paramedic in the Province of Ontario, (Regulation 257 / 00).
- Currently certified as a Primary Care Paramedic, Advanced Care Paramedic, or Critical Care Paramedic in good standing with an Ontario Base Hospital
- Must be willing to obtain IV certification when next available course is offered (if not already certified)
- Possess current valid CPR certificate.
- Possess and maintain all qualifications as specified under the Ambulance Act and Regulations.
- Up to six (6) months of related experience.
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort required to treat and move patients, deliver medical equipment or sort inventory at station and in ambulance.
- Possess and maintain a valid Class “F” Ontario Driver’s Licence.
- Must be flexible to work days, evenings and / or weekends.
- Vulnerable Sector Check will be required
- Complete Immunization information once provided
- Driver’s Abstract
