Job description
Job Title: Active Directory & Microsoft 365 Migration Specialist (Quest ODM)
Job Type: 2-month Part-time Contract (with strong potential of extension)
Location: 100% Remote (Must reside and be legally entitled to work in Canada)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 4 to 30 hours per week
Rate: $80/hr T4 OR $90/hr Inc.

Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Active Directory & Microsoft 365 Migration Specialist to support a migration engagement currently entering Phase 2 of delivery. The successful candidate will primarily focus on execution activities, production cutovers, migration support, and workstation migrations as part of a large-scale transformation involving approximately 300 users and workstations. The resource must be comfortable operating within a structured migration program and independently executing migration waves and real-time cutover activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute Active Directory (ADDS) migration and transformation activities.
  • Support Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations and production cutovers.
  • Configure and execute migration tooling, preferably Quest ODM.
  • Support workstation and endpoint migration activities.
  • Perform user migration execution and troubleshooting.
  • Validate application dependencies and support application rationalization activities.
  • Execute migration waves using structured runbooks and documented processes.
  • Troubleshoot migration issues and coordinate with project stakeholders during cutover activities.
  • Support pilot and production migration phases.
  • Assist with planning and architecture activities if experience permits.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands-on Active Directory (ADDS) migration experience.
  • 5+ years of Microsoft 365 tenant migration experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS)
    • Microsoft 365 Tenant-to-Tenant Migrations
    • Production Cutovers and Migration Support
    • Workstation and Endpoint Migration Processes
    • Troubleshooting Complex Migration Issues
    • Migration Wave Execution
    • Structured Runbooks and Documentation
  • Ability to work independently within fast-paced migration programs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure during production cutovers.
  • Highly organized and process driven.
  • Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience with Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other migration tools will be considered.
  • Experience supporting approximately 300+ user migration engagements.
  • Exposure to migration planning, architecture, and governance activities is considered an asset.
Environment:
  • Approximately 300 users and workstations.
  • No application migrations currently in scope.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to support production cutovers; weekend work is not anticipated.
  • Potential for extension and additional work beyond the initial engagement.
