Job description

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Commercial Site Superintendent to join our client, a well-established Abbotsford-based general contractor with a strong reputation across the Lower Mainland. With over two decades of consistent delivery and client-first execution, this builder continues to secure a steady pipeline of both TI and base build projects.

This is an opportunity to step into a key site leadership role reporting directly to the General Superintendent, where you’ll take ownership of active projects and contribute to a collaborative, high-accountability field team. If you’re a hands-on Superintendent who values quality, safety, and strong subcontractor relationships, apply today!

Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site construction activities across commercial TI and base build projects
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and equipment
  • Drive site safety, ensuring full compliance with WorkSafeBC and company standards
  • Conduct site meetings and maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to drawings and specifications
  • Maintain site documentation including daily reports, deficiencies, and inspection logs
  • Support RFIs, change orders, and overall coordination with consultants and the project team
  • Partner with the Project Manager on scheduling, procurement, and cost control

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
  • Proven experience managing TI projects ($3M–$5M) and/or base builds ($8M–$10M range)
  • Strong knowledge of BC Building Code, municipal processes, and WorkSafeBC requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead trades and maintain productive, organized job sites
  • Proficiency with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project
  • Valid BC driver’s license and flexibility to travel locally as required
