The GIS Database Lead will be primarily responsible for managing the team’s GIS data, including development, rollout and maintenance of GIS workflows, processes and templates, and maintenance of databases and data rooms. This role is being offered as a full-time position and will be based in Saskatoon, with occasional travel to Denison’s project sites.

Develop and execute workflows to support collection efforts (mapping and sampling), data import and export, QAQC, and security. Ensuring compliance with environmental and industry standards.

· Develop training and reference materials for GIS and database users and mentor geologists, technicians, and other GIS/database users.

· Produce high-quality technical reports, spatial datasets, and presentation materials.

· Contribute to machine learning or automation initiatives in GIS workflows.

Requirements

· 5+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., database management). Previous Athabasca Basin uranium exploration experience is an asset

· Awareness of geological mapping and geochemical sampling processes, including laboratory procedures, QAQC protocols and data analysis

· Strong skills with geographic information software systems (ESRI, ArcGIS, QGIS)

· Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, R) for GIS automation and data processing

· Drafting experience for map creation

· Understanding of spatial data models and how they are used to represent geographic and geologic features

· A commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace

· Knowledge and basic experience of general management practices in an applied technical environment: e.g. finance (budget, accounting, governance), people management, and project management

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

· Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Ability to interact successfully with all levels of staff, contractors, and vendors

· Valid driver’s license
