Job description
The Technical Resource Engineer, reporting to the Executive Vice President, manages the branding, marketing, and business development of the company. The responsibilities include but are not limited to educating and working with consultants, contractors, and municipal staff, communicating with industry professionals, hosting plant tours, attending trade shows, and creating promotional items. The Technical Resource Engineer uses effective communication abilities, technical knowledge, and attention to detail skills to help facilitate company growth.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Outreach to various organizations to promote the company and educate on products
  • Attend tradeshows, relevant technical sessions, and industry events
  • Arrange and facilitate plant tours
  • Engage in continuous learning of concrete technologies, new applications, the construction industry, and company customers
  • Oversee the Business Development Team and marketing plans and strategies
  • Ensure promotional material is accurate, on-brand, and beneficial for the company
  • Actively participate in various industry associations and remain informed on industry changes
  • Travel within Canada as required to attend job sites, tradeshows, industry events, or meet with various professionals
Skills, Education & Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the precast concrete industry
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related product, sales, or technical support experience
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) certified institution
  • Valid P. Eng license issued by Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is an asset
  • Understanding of the precast concrete industry including production and engineering viewpoints
  • Understanding of municipal and industry specifications and standards
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and management skills
