QA Coordinator, Environmental Labs

(Full time position)

Join a collaborative, ISO/IEC 17025–accredited environmental laboratory where your expertise, ideas, and professional growth are valued. You’ll work alongside passionate scientists to strengthen quality systems, support innovation, and build a strong quality culture while advancing your career in accreditation and continuous improvement.

The QA Coordinator, Environmental Laboratories is responsible for maintaining, implementing, and continuously improving the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and applicable regulatory standards. This role provides quality oversight across environmental testing activities to ensure data integrity, technical competence, and ongoing accreditation compliance.

As a QA Coordinator, your main responsibilities are:

  • Supporting the QA function within the local laboratory. With supervision received from the QA Manager and/or QA Specialist, assisting in the implementation of the QA program to ensure that Bureau Veritas provides its customers accurate and defendable data. Working towards ensuring the laboratories are in compliance with all relevant accreditation programs.
  • Monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices to ensure continual and effective implementation.
  • Monitor the effective implementation of Bureau Veritas’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Ensure the Quality System Tools are available and used.
  • Encourage, identify and participate in continual improvement.
  • Coordinate activities related to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, including preparation for initial assessments, surveillance audits, and reassessments.
  • Assist Internal Customers in addressing questions, concerns and stuck points with regards to quality practices.
  • Act as a key point of contact for accreditation bodies and external auditors.
  • Track accreditation scope requirements and ensure alignment with laboratory practices.
  • Maintain and administer the ISO/IEC 17025–compliant QMS, including policies, procedures, forms, and records.
  • Ensure controlled documentation, version control, and timely review of quality documents.
  • Monitor compliance with internal procedures, regulatory expectations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Monitor quality indicators such as QC performance, proficiency testing, customer complaints, and deviations.
  • Educate and train staff in the requirements of Bureau Veritas’s Quality Management System
  • Assist with review of quality control trends and reporting to management.
  • Support management review activities with quality-related metrics and analysis.
  • Support risk-based thinking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with competence records, training documentation, and awareness initiatives.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

You are the ideal QA Coordinator candidate, if you have:

  • . or Diploma in Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ laboratory experience. Internal Auditor training is an asset.
  • Strong science background and experience in laboratory practices.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control programs (ISO 17025).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write reports and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Competence in reviewing analytical procedures and practices.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement
