Our client a medium sized Public Accounting Firm is looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join their team in Scarborough, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee the preparation of financial statements and tax filings while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to lead audit engagements, mentor team members, and foster strong relationships with clients.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare financial statements for audits, reviews, and compilations in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Conduct audits for public companies and provide detailed assessments of financial records.
- Manage the preparation of various tax filings, including T1, T2, T3, T3010, T4, and T5 forms.
- Complete regulatory and organizational returns efficiently and accurately.
- Lead and coordinate audit teams, ensuring effective task allocation and workflow management.
- Mentor and support team members by fostering a positive learning environment and providing constructive feedback.
- Plan and prioritize multiple engagements to ensure efficiency and timely completion.
- Monitor engagement budgets, track variances, and meet time constraints effectively.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify service opportunities and build lasting, attentive relationships.
- Keep stakeholders informed of project progress and address significant issues promptly.
- CPA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program (midway through or nearing completion)
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of ASPE / ASNPO and knowledge of the Income Tax Act.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS – public company audits
- Highly proficient PC skills, especially in Excel
- Experience working with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, Quickbooks, Sage / Simply Accounting, TaxPrep
- Detail orientated work, and able to perform under tight deadlines and with competing priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building skills and professionalism
- Strong commitment to continuous learning, and meeting client needs - Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task competing priorities
